It’s A New Year; Do You Know Where Your Ultimate Goal Is? (+100% Free Download)
Setting Your Ultimate Goal For 2012
It’s officially 2012 and the biggest thing this year besides the end of the world (supposedly) is the amount of goals being made everyday. The problem with traditional goals, otherwise known as new year traditions, is they only have a shelf life of 2 to 3 months. You know those little deals you make with yourself that only last from January to early April.
I’m super excited because I’ve come up with a method that kicks the traditional new years tradition’s butt.
I call it The Ultimate Goal Sheet.
This is how you set your Ultimate Goal
You write down your ultimate goal; and this works great for blogging by the way. I’m going to give you some examples. I started this blog in October of 2011 with no goals but to get traffic and make money. That’s the typical goal setting method; set an end point with no sense of direction for getting there.
My ultimate goal for 2012 is to get 500 views per day to my blog. I did the necessary research on getting traffic and to accomplish my ultimate goal, I’ll have to do a number of things:[black_tick_list width="100%"]
- Keep my blog updated with fresh one of a kind content
- Comment on other blogs
- Do Guest blog posts
- Do social bookmarking
- Share my posts around the social media scene
- Build my email list
That’s just a brief break-down of things I have to do to accomplish my ultimate goal. Knocking these goals out one by one gets me closer to that 500 visits per day.
So why is this ultimate goal system perfect for your blogging success?
The mini goals are not tasks that will need to be done forever. Eventually, when you get the views, you make money. Here’s the break-down:
Once the mini goals are competed, the ultimate goal is completed. As you see in the diagram with my ultimate goal, once I get the desired traffic, I’ll pay for advertising, pay content writers and assistants to keep the mini goals running smoothly. This will equal more traffic which will lead to more money.
Along with my ultimate goal being accomplished over and over again, I’ll be building my brand to where guest writers will want to do guest posts on my site to accomplish their own ultimate goal.
The trick to making this work is setting your goals in reverse. Think as if you’ve already accomplished your ultimate goal and work backwards thinking what you did to get there.
Time To Take Action Towards Your Ultimate Goal
The best part about mini-goals is they aren’t meant to last forever or up until the next year like resolutions. They are a resolution to resolutions.
Do the research on what you need to do to accomplish your ultimate goal. Put those down and put together a daily schedule to that goes toward accomplishing each mini-goal one by one.
The most important part of accomplishing your ultimate goal is STICKING TO IT. You have to dedicate yourself to sticking to your schedule.
If something is not working, tweak it until it works. It may not be perfect the first time. Here’s an example of a great way to setup a schedule. I got this from a blog I do guest posts on and decided to make my own.
In Conclusion
So now you should be totally pumped about the new year and ready to take your blog to the next level. Get your ultimate goal together and figure out your mini-goals and put the ultimate goal sheet somewhere where you’ll see it every single day. I suggest next to your computer monitor or stick it to your window.
One thing I did this year that I’m proud of is delete my Facebook. I felt it was waste of time and is only good for business.
Stay strong and get your ultimate goal taken care of.
If you like this new method, please share it with your friends and family and tell them to get to work on accomplishing their ultimate goal.
